JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for the overall direction and management of all aspects of a multifaceted campus recreation program consistent with the mission of the University which is to provide a variety of leisure activities that are experiential in nature and selected on a basis of their contribution to the physical, psychological, ethical and social lifetime development of the individual.  The director provides overall leadership and direction for a comprehensive campus recreation program, which includes fiscal management, risk management, facilities management, and programmatic management.  Budget supervision in daily matters and for short and long range planning is a significant part of the role.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Recreation Management or a related field is required plus a minimum of five years experience in an advanced administrative position in the field of recreation.  Must be able to demonstrate skills in management, supervision and administration.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills.  Must possess effective interpersonal skills.  The director must be task oriented, self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic and cooperative.  Ability to conduct short and long range planning and budget development is essential.

MINIMUM SALARY :

$43,771; additional salary commensurate with education and experience, band 6
